Of all the tribes in Uganda Baganda exhibit much shrewdness and nose for commerce, or let us be honest money. It was in Buganda that much commerce begand aand where the rupee gain much promincence. Buganda engaged in the biggest real estate deal in 1900; loong before other tribes knew that land could actually be sold. Even today selling and buying of land is a very dicey matter seeing as the land is normally given to one to use but he does not necessarily have right to sell. It has been said that the bulk of the problems associated with the Buganda question can be traced to the inequities wrought by the 1900 agreement.
So to believe that federalism will wipe away all wrongs is to be severely disillusional. We have had Buganda presidents before why were they not ina rush to establish the federalism if it was the front point or major agenda of all baganda? We must stop propaganda! Seccession talks have been made before and we have heard of the Nile republic mooted, the Lado enclave yet verily I state that no seccession will happen in EA for long time. It will not happen when the reasonable and wise Muganda knows there is money to be made in Juba, Waraga, Soroti and all the diverse areas where I have foundd them engaged in industry. It will not happen in the Lado enclave when it forms part of the oil basin. It will not happen in Northern Uganda or Acholi land, it will not happen in Teso.
Opportunist are simply drumming up emotions for a pilgrims progress and a bottomless pit. There is no merit in the direction being preached in this forum. The losses will never be realized – this I promise you. Buganda cannot seek retribution from the fellows who signed the 1900 agreement those are the authors of your current misfortunes.
